Capitol City Gun Club hosts a variety of Sporting Clays games. Our courses are designed to entice beginners and challenge the masters. The course is fully automated with the ability to time-delay the trap, allowing a shooter to run the course solo if desired.
Sporting Clays
Capitol City Gun Club features a 15-station sporting clays course. The course includes stands, platforms and a 50-foot tower in classic high Sierra desert landscaping to provide a varied selection of target presentations. The targets are changed on a regular basis, so the course is always challenging, yet always fair. All of our stations use fully automated clay target launchers.

5-Stand
Two 5-Stand courses, including a new 5-stand to be introduced in 2009 are available for your shooting. 5-Stand consists of 5 different shooting stations from which each shooter gets to shoot 8 different target presentations. Each trap (from #1 to #8) has a unique presentation from running rabbit to springing teal and also includes incoming, outgoing, quartering-away, quartering-in and other angled targets. . A full round consists of 25 targets per shooter. (scoring sheet)
FITASC
Essentially, FITASC is European sporting clays, only don't assume that it is physically the same as your normal concept of sporting clays. As our population begins to become involved with sporting clays, they see it as a rather sprawling affair spread out over the countryside to emulate actual hunting conditions. The trap machines can be set in woodlots, along fences, besides ponds, and in the open fields. Each presentation is designed to resembles a relative authentic hunting shot.
